It's a Show! Gregg Inhofer and the Cockeyed Band @ Black Dog Coffee & Wine Bar, St. Paul

Eric Kamau Gravatt, Music for the Upright Walking

Hey everyone!

Gregg Inhofer and the Cockeyed Band (Eric, Charles, Jason and me) are playing at the Black Dog, February 2.

It's a really cool, intimate setting. And we've got the talented Steve Sullivan and the Factory opening for us with an acoustic set.

Now, you know we'd play for free and pass around the tip jar. But we're putting a lot of effort into this: We're recording the gig and you get a free copy of the show with your ticket, so you'll have something to remember.

So... we've put together some sweet offers - all at a 20% discount if you get it now vs buying your tickets at the door. It's also your chance to get a copy of the album (if you haven't already) for only $4 bucks with your ticket.

Hope to see many of you on the 2nd!

peace, gi

"If I Wore a Hat (For Jeff Hill)"

Jeff Hill Tribute, Music for the Upright Walking

If I Wore a Hat (For Jeff Hill)
By Gregg Inhofer

They say when life gives you lemons, just make lemonade.
But that's so easy for them to say, when they're all sittin' in the shade.
Sippin' their long, tall, cool ones and never havin' any fun.
Losin' what connection they may have had with anyone.

But you always knew, how to live life in style.
And you always knew, how to make a sad man smile.
And you understood, how to make each day brand new.
So if I wore a hat, I'd take it off to you.

Sometimes things can happen, and I almost lose my mind.
I try to get ahead and end up fifty steps behind.
But you had a calmness and a steady even keel,
That told everyone who knew you that you really were for real.

I don't believe I'll ever know just what it's all about.
But just the same I think I'd like a little clue.
It's never easy when you have to learn to live without.
And now we have to live without you.

But as the story continues, I just don't understand,
How life can fill the world with evil people and strike down a good man.
But in my humble opinion, I think he's looking down from above.
Seeing all the faces and connecting them with love.
