Rob Chapman’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Picture Show Presents “Bob Dylan: Don’t Look Back” - Special Guest Gregg Inhofer
Join Rob Chapman and his guest Gregg Inhofer at the Parkway Theatre for a special screening of D.A. Pennebaker’s Bob Dylan-documentary “Don’t Look Back”.
The Minneapolis based singer and songwriter played keyboards on Bob Dylan’s album “Blood on the Tracks”, which ranks as number 16 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Inhofer - a member of the Minnesota Rock and Country Music Hall of Fame - will offer a glimpse behind the scenes of rock ‘n’ roll history and share the story of the legendary recording sessions.
“Don’t Look Back”, the Dylan-documentary by filmmaker Donn Alan Pennebaker, takes a look at one of Minnesota's most beloved music icons during his 1965 concert tour in the United Kingdom. It’s full of behind the scenes footage, including appearances by folk singer Joan Baez, Scottish songwriter Donovan, and poet Allen Ginsberg. The opening scene of the film also served as the iconic music video for the Bob Dylan song "Subterranean Homesick Blues".
The historic Parkway Theatre - with its eye-catching modern deco façade - opened for business in February 1931. Showing mostly independent and offbeat films, it has been operating as a neighborhood cinema ever since. What’s special about the Parkway: In addition to the standard popcorn and soda, moviegoers get to enjoy alcoholic beverages and take-out food from Pepito’s Mexican restaurant - while watching the movie.
